I like this and it seems easily doable.

Hold down on the previous move for 2 seconds and it jumps to the beginning.

Ah, thanks. There are about 25 new spam accounts per day, so I added the hidden captcha — no manual input needed — but even that didn’t work, so new accounts now need my approval. It definitely needs a better solution!

Separate topics is perfect, as you’re doing. 🙂

Can you explain a little further what you’d like to see here? Do you mean a built-in engine that explains/shows arrows as to tactical errors?

The way I use it is to add questionable moves and give them annotations (?, ??, ?!), and just not make them “key” moves. Sometimes I add short text, like, “leaves d5 weak.”

    Hi David,

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I do hope to get to some of these when I can, but I have to set expectations that, unfortunately, I can only squeeze in a couple hours a month so it won’t be anytime soon. New baby, work, and other hobbies; I hope you understand!

iCloud support in particular is what I’d like to look into next, as it would be super useful!

    Hi kcalsnur,

Thanks for the notes and sorry I missed them sooner. Now there’s a plugin installed to send email notifications for forum posts so hopefully things go unmissed.

Anyway, thanks for attaching the exact PGN. What you may be noticing is the default 15 move limit when importing games, but you can remove that.

On the import screen, you’ll see “Importing Games up to Move 15.” Tap on that and set “Remove Limit.” Then import the file again and the whole game will be brought in.

Having a limit speeds up imports for people importing very large PGNs. It’s also because in an opening app, for most people it’s a distraction to go deeply into 20, 30, or more moves. I can speak from experience that if the moves are there, I click into them and wind up spending time on late middle-games I’ll never actually get into!

If you’re having issues besides the 15 move limit, let me know and I’ll have a closer look.

    Regards,
    Brian

    Hi kcalsnur,

Yes! Just tap on the name in the Repertoire screen and erase it, then tap OK. That causes the current position to fall back to its previous name, which is the parent move’s name.
